Opportunities From: City of Anna

All sports officials (umpires and referees) over 18 years of age will be subject to an annual background check and will need to complete their SafeSport Certification. 

Assist with the flow and organization of library materials. Task include shelving books and pulling items for holds.

Shift 1: 10am-12pm Mon. and Fri.

Only volunteers 18+ years during Extended Access hours:

Two volunteers are required for a shift to be approved. If there are not two, the shift will be canceled. Please communicate early if your schedule changes.

Must be previously approved for Extended Access. Before your first shift arrangements, will be made to complete this step and provide training. 

Volunteers will assist with greeting neighbors, providing direction to patrons, and assisting with general questions. Assist with self-check out stations and library card sign-ups.

Shift 3: 12pm-2pm on Mon, Tue., Wed., Thur.

If 18+, must be previously approved for OpenPlus - Extended Hours. Before your first shift arrangements, will be made to complete this step and provide training.

Kick off “spooky season” by getting up close and personal with our nighttime insect friends. Light stations will be set up to entice insects (and more) to rest awhile on the lighted sheets so they can be viewed up close with a magnifying glass. Kids love this unusual event! Participants 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Experience the beauty of our parks in Anna while learning about our natural surroundings.

Volunteer will host walk and provide educational information to attendees. This opportunity is for a Texas Master Naturalist volunteer.

11/21 - Slayter Creek Park

All volunteer coaches will be subject to an annual background check and will need to complete their SafeSport Certification. 

The assignment of a team, team color and name, and priority of the scheduling of practices will be given based on a timestamp of the completion of all necessary steps in the volunteer coach registration process including SafeSport Training completion.

Additionally, confirmation with a head coach of their assistant coach will take place prior to assigning an assistant coach to a team.

Keep Anna Beautiful is an affiliate program of Keep Texas Beautiful.  Litter is a significant problem throughout North Texas. In addition to disrupting our views and decreasing our property values, it hurts our native plants and animals.  Keep Anna Beautiful's mission statement is " To inspire and educate the neighbors of Anna to keep our community clean and beautiful."  You can be a vital part of living out that statement. We are actively seeking potential volunteers to help us create a positive impact here in Anna.

Litter clean-up opportunities are available at any time with prior authorization at an approved location. Please allow 48 hours for approval. 

All volunteers must complete a waiver and agree to the safety guidelines before participation. One hour of time is typical for this project.

Heather Standerfer, Hstanderfer@annatexas.gov, will reach out to confirm volunteers and coordinate pick up of litter supplies. 

After completing a clean-up please report your data. If volunteering as a group, appoint one member to complete this step. Hours will be applied to your volunteer account.
